Dear Friends,
First of all, I can’t tell you how excited I am that Barack Obama has been elected 44th President of the United States!
We have been talking about making change a reality, and with our help, our country took a great step toward the future.
Although we came short of making a change in the 3rd Congressional District, Long Island stands behind our President-Elect, our new, more progressive Congress, and the ideals and policies we have been discussing throughout this campaign.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support me, volunteered, contributed, and helped carry our message of change. I could not have done this without you.
It has truly been an honor to campaign with all of the amazing candidates on the Democratic ticket from here in Nassau County this year. It is rare to find a group of people who are genuine, honest people, committed to making progress. That can’t be said for every candidate and politician across the nation, and whether we won or lost our election, we proved a small group of committed people can and do make a difference.
This election year has brought people into the political process for all the right reasons, and we must not loose our motivation to continue making Long Island and our country a better place to live. There’s a lot to do, and you haven’t heard the last from us yet.
Congratulations, and thank you. We made history this year, and you should be proud.

Graham Long
